A Temple Sinai Program: Tikkun Olam from Home - Supporting Chesterfield Inlet, Nunavut
Drop off on Sunday March 14, from 1.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m.
The Tikkun Olam from Home Initiative thanks you for supporting the local Braeburn Neighbourhood Centre in Rexdale. Two hundred hygiene kits were delivered from Temple Sinai to the centre in February.
Our next initiative is to assist a northern community, the oldest one in Nunavut. Chesterfield Inlet is a tiny hamlet of 450 people, 2305 kilometres from Toronto.
Their 100-student school with youth in JK to grade 12 are in desperate need of school supplies.
How can you help?
No need to buy anything. Look around the house, and get children and grandchildren involved. Much-needed items include:
• Gently used books from toddler to adolescents
• Nut-free wrapped snacks
• Packages of stickers
• Decorations for bulletin boards
Register online at https://templesinai.net/tikkun-olam/ to participate and arrange your drop off time to Temple’s parking lot (210 Wilson Avenue) on Sunday March 14. For more information visit www.templesinai.net or call the Temple office at 416-487-4161.
